Born in Britain, Tracey Cox
emigrated to Australia in 1971 where she completed an
Arts Degree majoring in psychology and journalism. She
went on to spend seven years at Cosmopolitan magazine
where, as well as being Associate Editor and
contributing features, she wrote a highly popular
monthly column called The Sex Report.
After leaving Cosmopolitan in 1994, Tracey became a
freelance writer, specialising in sex and relationships
and contributed to women’s magazines world-wide
including Elle, She, Marie Claire and Company. She moved
back to England eight years ago and currently writes
columns on sex and body language for Glamour, iVillage
(U.S.) & Closer.
In 1998 she published her first book, HOT SEX: HOW TO DO
IT (Pub: Corgi) launched in the UK in 1999. The book
became an instant bestseller reaching number 2 in the UK
and Ireland and is published in more than 140 countries
around the world. She has now sold more than two million
books with at least six of her titles bestsellers. Her
second book, HOT RELATIONSHIPS: HOW TO HAVE ONE was
published in the UK in May 2000 (Pub: Corgi) and offers
a fun, practical and down to earth guide to
relationships.
Towards the end of 2002 she published 'SUPERSEX', a
stylish and fully illustrated new-look sex manual
(Dorling Kindersley). 'SUPERFLIRT' followed in November
2003 (also DK) and a documentary based on the book was
broadcast on Channel 5. 'SUPERDATE', was published in
January 2005, 'QUICKIES' in May 2006 and 'SUPERHOTSEX'
in September 2006.
Her latest book, TRACEY COX'S KAMA SUTRA (DK) will be
published in December, 2007. As well as her work as a
writer, Tracey presented a 40-part series for SKY ONE
and hosted a weekly national radio show for Sydney's
2-DAY FM. She was the body language expert on the highly
popular primetime series on BBC 2 'WOULD LIKE TO MEET'
(3 series). She also presented her own lifestyle show
for ITV 1 'UNDER ONE ROOF' and has filmed 2 series for
primetime U.S. television called 'DATE PATROL'. Her
series 'THE SEX INSPECTORS' (Channel 4) was broadcast
towards the end of 2004 and a 2nd series was broadcast
in September 2005. The first series has been bought by
HBO in the U.S. and was shown in September 2005. She has
made many other television and radio appearances
including 'This Week' (BBC 1), Richard & Judy (Ch 4),
Oprah (US television), the Today Show (US television)
and a cameo appearance on 'The Keith Barrett Show' (BBC
2). She is also a regular guest on Jo Whiley's show
(Radio 1).
