Petrina was born in Los
Angeles and raised by her mother Soraya and her former
husband, Adnan Khashoggi. She spent her formative years
living between New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Spain
and the South of France. She discovered her father was
the former MP Jonathan Aitken at the age of 18 and
became the subject of intense media scrutiny.
Petrina was a child model and was later scouted by top
London agency, Models 1. Her career as a fashion model
spanned almost ten years and she was represented by
agencies in London, New York, Paris, Milan, Madrid,
Barcelona, Berlin and Frankfurt. She has appeared in
many fashion magazines including the cover of The Sunday
Times Style and ES and in the pages of US and UK Vogue,
Marie-Claire, Elle, Tatler, i-D and W. One of her most
recent shoots was a 14 page story on British fashion in
US glossy, Ocean Drive. She was also featured in
photographer Rankin’s book ‘Above and Below’, a
collaboration with David Bailey.
Petrina has also done some television work, appearing in
an episode of Absolutely Fabulous and co-hosting a
programme on US station NY1 and has had acting classes
at The Method Studio and The London Drama School.
She moved from London to New York when she was 23 and
worked for a brief period in a literary agency before
resuming her modelling career. She returned to London in
2006 and worked at the Simon Lee gallery in Mayfair,
specialising in contemporary art. She was then offered a
job with Larry Gagosian, running his Mayfair gallery in
London. She remains a roving ambassador for the gallery.
Petrina is currently writing her first screenplay and
working as a freelance journalist for magazines such as
Elle and Tatler and The Mail on Sunday. She is also
studying for a degree in Humanities and Literature with
The Open University.
Petrina lives in London with her dog, Humphrey.
