An award-winning broadcaster, journalist and
conference host, Paul’s career kicked off in 1981 with
his own local radio show which was followed by a chat
series, Meet Paul Coia, for Scottish Television. Since
then he has worked extensively on a variety of
programmes, including for the BBC and ITV The Holiday
Programme, Pebble Mill at One, This Morning, Garden
Party, Catchword and Children in Need. Similarly, for
radio he has worked with a number of stations from
Glasgow’s Radio Clyde to Radios Two and Four, where
he has presented every type of radio show from hard
rock to soul and jazz, from the top forty to politics
and chat. Most recently Paul has become the voice of
Disney’s new satellite station ABC1 and he
is a regular contributor to London’s LBC and BBC Radio
Scotland.
Paul has written extensively for many papers including
The Sunday Times,
The Guardian, Herald and
Evening Times.
He also runs his own communication and training company,
teaching business leaders the art of presentation, media
handling and public speaking, and is currently writing a
book on the subject of business presentations and
communication.
On the corporate front, Paul experience is extensive.
Working predominantly in the medical, financial and IT
sectors Paul has presented
conferences,
videos, exhibitions, satellite links and product
launches for blue chip companies around the world. He
has also fronted tailor made television shows for
delegates, hosted award ceremonies, incentivising and
motivational seminars, and much more. In 2005 he
chaired the annual Barclays Bank annual conference for
1400 delegates, and co-hosted the annual IVCA Awards at
London’s Grosvenor House – the corporate production
companies’ own awards for excellence in live event
production.
