also for Meridian. She is a regular contributor on
CARLTON COUNTRY.
Whilst pregnant with her first child, (Honor born 26
January 2001) she presented “CELEBRITY BABY” for SKY 1.
Her daughter Florence was born on 18 August 2003.
Julia has a regular beauty column in the Daily Mail and
was the beauty writer for ‘Hello Magazine’ for nearly 3
years from 2000. Her first book “BEAUTY SCOOP – The
indispensable guide to the best beauty products on the
market” co written with Kate Shapland, was published
in May 2004 by Collins and was serialised by The Daily
Mail. She was one of the faces of the Autumn 2004 Ideal

Julia has been a strict vegetarian since 18 years old
and as a result has learned to be very inventive with
her cooking. She strongly believes it is possible to
eat only vegetables and yet still make dishes
interesting and varied. Although she has not imposed
her vegetarianism on her children she has encouraged
them to eat healthily and to enjoy everything from
tomatoes to chickpeas.
In 1998, she took part in the London Marathon to raise
money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and walked the full
26 mile course in just over six hours.
She lives in London with her family and her black
Labrador, Biff.
