Jacey
Normand is currently a co presenter on BBC 1's flag
ship current affairs show, Inside Out. She's
regularly seen on tough investigations involving
door stepping con men, exposing gun and knife crime,
even highlighting violence on public transport
across the region. More recently she's been ghost
hunting with Derek Acorah and has been training at a
stunt school making her BBC north west's resident
action girl.
Jacey has been an on screen reporter for the BBC for
the last 5 years, formerly presenting on the
Politics Show NW alongside Jim Hancock. Born and
bred in Manchester she started her early career in
Politics, working in Westminster for an MP and in
the US House of Representatives, where she went to
the Whitehouse and even met Bill Clinton.
Jacey is a creative and energetic TV broadcast
professional, trained broadcast journalist and
presenter with experience across BBC 1’s Inside Out,
Radio 1, Newsround, The Politics Show NW as well as
exposure to all BBC news and entertainment output.
She is competent and confident in all aspects of TV
production and have a wide variety of professional
contacts as well as a strong interest in wide TV
programme genres. |

Inside Out North
West –
Reporter/presenter - BBC1, Friday @ 7.30pm. I
present a ten minute film each week in a prime time
BBC1 slot on a wide variety of topics ranging from
gun violence and gangs to pop concerts and haunted
houses.
Newsround
North West Presenter -
BBC1, Weekdays –
5.25pm I recently fronted a new pilot for Newsround,
which could get commissioned towards the end of the
year. It would transmit across the north of England
and I would present the bulletin from the studio as
well report on the day’s top story. The programme
would tx at 17.25, just after the network show.
Co-presenter of “The Politics Show NW” -
BBC1, Sundays
12.00-1.00pm.
I was a regular face on the Politics Show North West
and had a slot rounding up the week’s political news
and gossip. I also did all of the set piece
interviews with a variety of faces from novelist and
revolutionary documentary makers such as Michael
Moore to heavy weight political figures such as Ian
Duncan Smith, John Prescott, Ken Clarke and Alan
Milburn and Charles Clarke.

summer 2003 presenting reports on a variety of
stories from show biz and entertainment to
mainstream news.

1pm - I started work at the BBC making and
presenting films on the local political programme.

Lobbyist to Manchester Airport Group – My main tasks
involved organising their party conferences. The key
responsibility was to arrange their annual Prime
Ministerial dinner as well as lobby guests at key
receptions.
Congressional researcher – I was selected by the
English Speaking Union from 900 applicants to work
with a Congressman and their staffers out in the US
House of Representatives. The highlight of the post
was meeting Bill Clinton at the final Presidential
picnic he ever hosted at the Whitehouse.
Parliamentary Researcher – I spent 3 years working
in Westminster for MP, Graham Stringer. Main tasks
involved helping to prepare and occasionally write
speeches as well as to solve constituent's
grievances attend briefings and liaise with the
press when stories broke. |
