MBE
Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE is a space scientist whose
passion is presenting science to a general audience. She
has a degree in Physics and PhD in Mechanical
Engineering and several tv and radio credits including
BBC Breakfast, Doctor Who Confidential and
and Do We Really Need the Moon (BBC 2). She was a guest on Radio 4’s
Desert Island Discs in 2010 and won Red magazine’s ‘Red
Hot Woman’ Award for the pioneering category. |

(biology/geology – 1st class), and a Masters from
Imperial College. Prior to university Jheni was a
professional tennis player, representing Great Britain
