Claire lives a
rather hectic life common in most families, raising
three boisterous boys of twelve, ten and seven.
Professionally, she trained and qualified as a clinical
psychologist in England before moving to Australia for
seventeen years. In that time she was employed as a
clinical psychologist working with families and children
at risk of harm and began writing about parenting, child
development and family issues. She returned to the UK a
couple of years ago and most recently was seen
presenting ITV1’s primetime show ‘Driving Mum and Dad
Mad’.
Claire now works for the NHS as a consultant clinical
psychologist supporting families and children in the
West Midlands. She concentrates on everyday challenges
for families such as managing temper tantrums, helping
children sleep, and keeping relationships alive, as well
as more specialist areas such as parent-child
attachment, bullying, disabilities and anxiety in
children. She is also currently presenting at the
National RESPECT academies on the issue of parenting and
parenting support.
Claire became involved with Triple P in 2002 when she
had the opportunity to develop a parenting service in
the West Midlands. Triple P – Positive Parenting
Programme is a system of easy to implement, proven
parenting solutions which work to prevent future
problems before they arise. Claire now has a trained
team of Triple P practitioners delivering the service. |
