Bella is an experienced,
award-winning journalist and a naturally versatile
television presenter.
Bella gained a First
Class Honours degree in Multi-Media Journalism from
Bournemouth University (the only UK degree course
accredited by the top three industry training bodies –
the National Council for the Training of Journalists,
the Periodicals Training Council and the Broadcast
Journalist Training Council) and received professional
accolade for her dissertation entitled “The Passive
Newsroom: Limits on Active Reporting”.
Bella graduated with a handful of prestigious awards,
including the Media Society National Bursary, Daily Mail
best young feature writer, BJTC Broadcast Journalist of
the Year (Television prize), Meridian prize for
Outstanding Achievement in Television and was short
listed for the PTC New Journalist of the Year.
After leaving University she joined the BBC as a
Broadcast Journalist. Working as part of the
award-winning news team at BBC South she became the
permanent radio newsreader for the breakfast shift
(6am-2pm). She has also produced the all-talk
Breakfast Show, drive time news programme and numerous
outside broadcasts.
Bella has written for publications including The Times
and The Daily Express and has freelanced for BBC's
Newsround, London Tonight and Meridian news, among
others.
She is a very experienced voiceover artist with many
varied television and radio adverts and audio
commentaries to her name. Bella is a practised public
speaker and has given university lectures on media,
television, writing techniques and hosted presenter
workshops. This is in addition to being commissioned to
write in-depth reports on cultural, technical and policy
issues within the media industry for the BBC, Sky and
the Danish Government.
Being an accomplished journalist, Bella relishes the
challenge of tackling any subject matter thrown at her:
from travel, property and architecture to health &
beauty, fashion, food and entertainment.
Her presenting work has
taken her around the globe, including filming a series
of 26 programmes for Channel 4’s successful overseas
property show,
A Place in the Sun.
Recently, she has been presenting, writing and
co-producing a number of programmes for Majestic TV in
Spain.
